Bill Cunningham Runs The Streets -

We saw Bill Cunningham in NYC the other week. I actually had no idea who he was but luckily my special lady keeps herself knowledgeable about the world and pointed him out to me. I then snapped and edited this photo. An interesting and amazing New York fixture, he's been working the fashion world for years, the majority of them at the Times. I actually just heard that the Willamette Week has started biting his layout style in their rag. Turns out that he casts a pretty big shadow and I'm not sure they have a body big enough over there... Anyways, I know about his shadow, and influence, through the recently released, and very good, documentary Bill Cunningham New York. My suggestion is that you watch this film. Bill, as the subject, is entirely delightful and moving, and the passion he shows for his work is ultimately inspiring. I'm going to say it again, watch this film. I've been thinking about this movie, Bill Cunningham, and photography as a medium all day because of it.
